Attendance: Learning starts with good attendance. Help your child succeed in school by building good attendance habits at the start of the school year.

Did You Know?

  • Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.

  • Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.

  • Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1 or 2 days every few weeks.

  • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.

  • Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit early so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school, college and career.

Breakfast & Lunch: Breakfast and lunch is FREE for all students daily. Breakfast is served between 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

Parent Square: Hacienda La Puente Unified and Baldwin Academy use Parent Square to communicate information. Please be sure to download the parent Square App on your device, so that you can receive important updates and information from the school and district.

Parking Lot Safety: Parking in the parking lot is designated for EMPLOYEES ONLY from 7:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.  Let’s work together to keep students and staff safe by following all traffic laws.

Del Haven After School Program: If you’d like your child to attend the after-school program, please call Del Haven at 626-917-9789. Remember, spaces are limited.

We look forward to an amazing school year with you! Enjoy your summer and we’ll see you soon!

With gratitude,

Kelly Arena
